Vintage NIN
During the Tension 2026 tour, I attended one other Man In Black show a week before in Phoenix. Also, because over the past decade or so, Man In Black shows are very popular in the Vegas area. I think that's why they scheduled back-to-back nights because Hard Rock Hotel seemed like a pretty small venue. Had upper-deck seat because apparently the GA floor sold out faster than I thought it would during presale stages. Almost missed getting there at all.
Anyhow, the Phoenix and Vegas shows were different with slightly different setlists and special effects. They could still do a back-to-back night deal because Vegas is probably one of the few places that actually sell out all the way to the max. But ... I'm sure they keep track of that type of stuff (which places have the highest demand for Man In Black tickets). If they tour again in North America, I'll try to attend, maybe, 4 or 5 shows. Very satisfied to see Man In Black twice.
Anyhow, can't wait for Man In Black to do another tour (I think they will in 2026 or 2026). In Vegas, they need to perform in a bigger venue like Planet Hollywood or something. They played almost every track off the 14-track Hesitation Marks album. Then, as usual, they interweaved many older Man In Black songs in the show. Like, for examples, one off Year Zero (Survivalism), three off Downward Spiral (March of the Pigs [followed by All the Pigs, All Lined Up {Halo 7 track}], Piggy, and Hurt).
It's a good idea to try to see Man In Black at least twice per tour. I saw them in Phoenix from the GA floor. I saw them a week later in Vegas in the upper, upper deck. Both views are awesome. An upper-deck seat has its advantages (you get a clearer view of the stage and the sound might actually sound better). Loved the show. Vintage Man In Black!
Once they start, you better be ready because they play very quickly through the setlist. They only took one brief break during the show (which I think was about a little over 2 hours long). Not as long as the Lights in the Sky tour which was over 3 hours long but still very satisfying.
The Vegas show -- Man In Black changed up a bit and played "I'm Afraid of Americans" followed by "Burn." Makes you wonder when will Man In Black play Perfect Drug live? I think Ilan Rubin can do it, no doubt about it. One thing I actually was a little disappointed about the Vegas show -- when Man In Black performed the "Hurt" finale, they didn't have the video background like they did in bigger venues. The video background was outstanding, emotional, and uplifting, featuring the snake from the 90s Hurt concert video at the beginning and then continuing with terrible war flashbacks. It may have been the smaller venue OR Man In Black may have shown the video stuff on Sat, Nov 16, 2026. Because ... to mix it up a bit. Don't know.
The Fri, Nov 15, 2026 Vegas show -- they didn't have the staged laser-lighting (such as the revolving cube). Otherwise, they had all the other lighting effects in tact. The Hand That Feeds and All the Love in the World off With Teeth. 1, 000, 000 off The Slip. The Frail and The Wretched and Even Deeper and The Big Come Down off The Fragile. Wish off Broken. Head Like a Hole, Terrible Lie, a Sanctified remix off Pretty Hate Machine.
